HvA Venture Centre empowers over 650 students with entrepreneurship skills and mindset

September 18, 2024

We’re thrilled to share the success of the HvA-wide EXPLORE Workshops, organized by the Venture Centre HvA (part of IXA-HvA). These workshops are designed to ignite entrepreneurial spirit among students, helping them discover their competencies and attitudes. The goal? Equip students to spot opportunities and create value within their fields—whether in business, healthcare, or other sectors. This proactive, solution-oriented approach ensures that Venture Centre graduates enter the workforce ready to make a positive impact; whether that be within their own company or working for an organization.

Highlights from Last Year

  • 650+ Students reached: Across 14 workshops, we engaged students from six faculties. The Bachelor of Nursing students were particularly inspired, with some advancing to our 10K Incubator Program to turn their ideas into startups.
  • Popular Workshops: “Opportunity Knocks” and “Pressure Cooker” were the top choices, focusing on translating opportunities into tangible products or services.
  • Teacher Feedback: Teachers praised the value of having external professionals from the Venture Centre, noting a significant boost in student proactivity and entrepreneurship. One teacher commented, “Students see the Venture Centre experts as true authorities, which enhances their learning experience.”

Looking Ahead

In the upcoming academic year, the Venture Centre HvA will refine these workshops based on last year’s feedback. We plan to expand our reach across all seven faculties and explore partnerships with other universities. Additionally, we’re considering a “Train the Trainer” program to amplify the impact of entrepreneurial learning both within and beyond HvA.

Get ready for another year of innovation and growth!
