Data & AI: drivers of innovation in Amsterdam UMC

On Monday 9 December 2024, the 2nd annual symposium of the ‘Datagedreven Werken’ program will take place, entitled: ‘Data and AI: drivers of innovation in Amsterdam UMC’, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Amstelzaal at location VUmc.

Date
9 December - 2024
Time
13:00 - 17:00

Data and AI driving innovation across all domains

Data and AI have the potential to bring acceleration, depth, efficiency, and improvement to all domains in our organization: in care, education, operations, and research. Such as the fast and effective registration of telephone consultations between doctor and patient using Chat GPT.

It is hard to imagine a more obvious domain that breathes data than research. In fact, the collection, storage and disclosure for reuse of data is crucial for scientific research that has an impact on improving patient care and the health of citizens. For years, Amsterdam UMC is committed to have a leading data foundation, suitable and secure processing environments, and FAIR data as a basis for applications such as AI.

Leveraging new opportunities to improve health and care

Also the importance of a regional and national data infrastructure that facilitates the availability of health data from multiple sources for primary and secondary use is widely recognized. All this enables us to leverage new opportunities to promote health, prevent disease, and improve and accelerate cure and care interventions, for example with the help of ‘omics’, personalized medicine, and data-driven decision support.

Program & registration (limited spaces available!)

The symposium on December 9 will address a series of examples and benefits of data-driven working and AI across all domains in Amsterdam UMC. Speakers will talk about the opportunities, for nurses, doctors, staff advisors and researchers. How can health outcomes be predicted using AI? How do we enable AI to be applied carefully and more quickly in healthcare practice? How should we deal with privacy and ethical aspects? What are the possibilities of text mining?

The symposium consists of a plenary part, followed by various workshops, and will conclude with drinks. Last year, due to the overwhelming interest, we had to disappoint a lot of people, so be sure to register on time! (full = full, there is room for ~350 people)

The full program (in Dutch) is attached to this email or available via this link.
The language spoken is NL. No livestream will be provided.
